…for Tuesday Chewsday innit #168
The other weekend I found myself with a rare burst of creative and productive energy! I randomly decided that I needed to organize and clean our apartment, give it a bit of a freshening up. Most weekends when I don’t have any plans, I veg a bit, relax, or take it easy. I don’t know where this came from, but I wasn’t about to let this random motivation pass me by. I went to Machine Shop first because duh, and then headed over to IKEA. We all know that if you walk in, you leave with more items than you thought you needed, but it was so fun to start the day that way. I then came home and started organizing, cleaning, looking for inspiration, and executing. Granted, the changes I made aren’t that big, but it’s like a teeth cleaning! Your mouth feels so clean, but people aren’t like…something changed; you got your teeth cleaned, didn’t you? It’s a little change that only you and maybe a few may notice, but it feels really good after. Anyway, let’s get to this week’s list:
What a clever decor idea. Instead of vases that break, vases that inflate!
I love a real lived-in looking home where there’s lots of organized clutter. The whole minimal thing–I like it in theory, but as a semi-professional hoarder I just don’t think that’s in the cards for me. Why not make the best of the clutter you’ve collected over the years? They’re sort of the story of your life all around your home. Maybe some parts have been ignored for 17 years, but hey, you never know when you’ll need that pair of pink leggings or tiny glass vase!
I still saved all the train tickets I had from Japan because, you know, semi-professional hoarder and all. These are so beautiful–vintage Japanese train tickets!
The Grand Palais in Paris is being renovated (for a small price of $466 million Euros) for the 2024 Olympics! This Art Nouveau building is gorgeous. It’s highly decorative, but because of the glass there’s an airiness and lightness that makes the space so breathtaking. Can you just imagine how cool it would be to perform an athletic event in this building!?
Are you planning to live in Germany but want to save on rent? Why don’t you follow what this high schooler did after he graduated and live on a train!?
I love knitting, it’s a very therapeutic activity. What yall know about tiny knitting though? Apparently the knitting needles for these Coraline costumes are the dimension of a human hair!
And lastly, the trays that are in that top image are from IKEA, which I bought during my random productive Saturday morning. They add the pop of color my dining table needs :)
Hope you have a good week everyone :) See you next Monday, hopefully!
