Happy Monday folks :) It’s been a minute since I’ve gotten this newsletter out “on time”, so I feel like I’m starting out the day with a win! Super random, but another thing I did that I feel proud of is getting my 86 (yes, 86) Safari tabs in my iPhone DOWN to 27. That is as Marie Kondo as I can get yall. Keeping the tabs that give me joy. I find that my focus times in the day are becoming less frequent, but when I get in that flow state…it’s a beautiful thing. I know it’s Monday, but I hope you’re able to find some time to get in the flow and get something done you’ve been meaning to. If not, don’t beat yourself up about it. Just remember there are crazy people like me who hold onto 86 internet tabs in their phone. Ok, this week’s list:
A short but sweet article from the Financial Times to the phenomenon that is Japanese magazines. I’m a hoarder of Popeye magazines. Just ask my friends who have helped me move in the past and asked me why my boxes are so heavy, and I had to sheepishly respond that they were magazines…let’s just say they were not happy. But these magazines are not just magazines to me. They’re chock-full of inspirational content and findings from clothes to the best restaurants to home decor. And it’s always featuring real people and their style and not these super finessed Architectural Digest (although, I love these too lol) home tours where celebrities pay $15,000 to get a stylist to add the most stylish books to their bookcase. I will hold onto these babies until the day I leave this earth and pass them onto my children in my will.
So…I don’t know how I feel about this, but The Office is getting a reboot. I love this show, but do I want a reboot of it already?? I’m honestly mad that they’re redoing it so soon. Can we just let shows rest for at least 25 years before we remake them? How many re- words can I use in one paragraph?
I’m so happy fall is here. Except this week’s weather is looking like summer’s trying to make a come back, but I’m not mad at that. Anywayyy, look at these crazy leaf patterns that makes raking leaves look like child’s play.
In other nature news, airline pilot Santiago Borja takes pictures of storms and clouds from his 767 (via Kottke). I love lightning. I wish I could put it in a jar and just get it to strike when I’m bored lol but this will do.
In other entertainment news, if you’re looking for a list of feel good movies to watch Vanity Fair’s got you. In my humble opinion, The Princess Bride is really the best choice.
Good news for you Chipotle lovers out there–carne asada is back babyyy but only for a limited time.
It’s confirmed everybody, we got a Superbowl halftime show artist secured for 2024. He taught us how to the thunderclap back in 2015. He told us of a girl he was reminded of in 2010. YEA it’s Usher (Usher, Usher…). I personally think “U Don’t Have to Call” was an underrated song, but that’s just me.
Highest Good is a newsletter I enjoy written by a seminarian with great thoughts and links concerning faith. I always appreciate people sharing helpful articles and resources as well as reflections from their own faith journey.
Have a great week everyone :) Enjoy this gorgeous weather, and I’ll see you next week!
THOSE LIGHTNING SHOTS ARE SICK!
